November 11th is Windows Update Tuesday! Wednesday November 12th is the day to install Windows updates.
Microsoft is not updating Windows XP! Microsoft has stopped updating Windows XP. If you are still using XP you need to change to Windows 7. This is not free or easy! You cannot keep your old programs! Please call me or stop by PC Bits.
Check your Update Settings before the 2nd Tuesday!
Double Click on the Windows Update Icon on your desktop. Look for the Change Settings link on the left. Open it and make sure your settings are "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". Use the drop down arrow to find this option.
Watch for the Windows Update Icon to appear in the bottom right corner down by the Time. Wait until Wednesday the 12th before looking at the updates.
Double Click on the Windows Update Icon on your desktop. Click on the Important Updates link.
Remember, Security Updates, Updates, Cumulative Updates and .NET only.
The "Malicious Software Removal Tool" is OK! It is Microsoft's custom Virus Scan! get it!
No Windows Live, Bing Desktop or Bing Bar.
