May 12th is Windows Update Tuesday! Thursday the 14th is the day to install Windows updates.
Microsoft is having many problems lately with bad Updates. Waiting a few days after the 12h gives them a chance to remove or fix bad ones.
Check your Update Settings Now!
Double Click on the Windows Update Icon on your desktop. Look for the Change Settings link on the left. Open it and make sure your settings are "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". Use the drop down arrow to find this option.
Watch for the Windows Update Icon to appear in the bottom right corner down by the Time. Wait until Thursday the 14th before looking at the updates.
Double Click on the Windows Update Icon on your desktop. Click on the Important Updates link only.
Remember, Security Updates, Updates, Cumulative Updates and .NET only.
The "Malicious Software Removal Tool" is OK! It is Microsoft's custom Virus Scan! get it!
No Windows Live, Bing Desktop or Bing Bar.
